Re: help - 11/07/12 12:47 AM
You have to post a story, it's the rules.
Rule #33 no pic of a buck over 158" my be posted without a detailed story describing the hunt.
buck came off a low fence ranch in dimmitt county he was green scored by official b&c guy like i said at 211 7/8 with a net of 200 3/8 a fellow at los cazadores in pearsall was not official but scored him at 215 and some change either way for low fence and no feeding except corn this is a phenomenal deer.
Heck of a buck!!! He will have a hard time beating that one. Congrats to you both.

Re: help - 11/07/12 02:29 AM
That's one of the most interesting bucks I've seen in a while.
One heck of a good young hunter too. Most grown men would have missed the shot due to buck fever.
Congrats to the young feller.

how do you top a deer like that? Awesome for the young man and it was low fence,no feed program just corn. Age and native groceries and good genetics, that is to cool.

Re: help - 11/07/12 03:47 AM
Did he come off one of the larger low fence ranches in Dimmit? There are only a few which come to mind that are still very wild untouched country.

Re: help - 11/07/12 04:17 PM
Incredible, congrats to that lucky boy.
this deer was shot on a 1600 acre ranch. the section he killed this deer on is seperated from the main ranch and the owner who is my relative-n-mind has been trying to manage for 15 yrs. The b/c guy said his teeth showed that he was 7plus yrs. old and he field dressed 143. only game cam pics came the night before he was killed and there are no others. my son had seen him the morning before and while we were texting to determine age ,spread, etc. to be sure that it was a shooter he dissappeared. fortunately my son wanted to hunt the same stand sunday and the old boy showed up again and the rest his history. thanks to good optics, ammo the old boy is in the freezer and at the taxidermist.
