I checked on our last feed bill for Indian corn. We buy it by the ton, so it worked out to $6.45 for 50lbs. We are fixing to order more at the end of the month and I'll let you know what is runs. We feed Indian corn as the deer really seem to like it, and stay at the feeder longer.

The prices are still high I feel I get more for my buck by buying horn corn ( mix of roasted soybean and corn) $10.00 a bag. Can get it in Jacksboro or Dennis's feed store in Denton.

Got my 10 bags this week, there was 2 bags that were just a little bit open and the kid told me to go ahead and just take them too. So got 12 for the price of 10.

Everyone Deer corn prices are sky high but theres a trick to it. Here at my local feed store it's 7.50 a 50 pound bag. But if you buy in bulk and take some feed barrels for them to fill it up in then it's 8.50 per 100 pounds which is much less. We got 4 55 gallon barrels filled to the top for like 80 bucks only.

Becareful buying bulk.. and make sure it pretty clean.. Most of them clean it at least one more time as they bag it. If its clean thats a hell of a deal.

It was very clean had a few grasshoppers here and there but no other bugs and wasnt any corn stalk in it. I was very surprised.

Does anyone know if Buc-ee's in Madisonville is still getting 5.99/50#? 2 weeks ago the I-10 store was getting $7.99. I used 20 bags this weekend of the $5.99 corn purchased back around 6/1. It was real clean, no issues.

For those of you who buy lots of corn in Texas, just a note. You should not be paying sales tax on the corn--and you don't need a tax-exempt account. I challenged one store and finally had to write the state comptroller who sent me an e-mail in reply stating that deer corn is not taxable. So, if you buy your corn at WM or Super S, or just about anyplace besides a feed store or mill, you may be paying tax on it. At our local WM, that was $.52 per 50lb bag. I took the message to WM and showed it to management--they refunded the tax I had paid (didn't notice until I got home), and kept the message so they could change their whatever to correct the error. I'll go back and check on them next week.

I got robbed at the Allsups outside of Dublin. I needed the corn and didn't want all my gear stolen out of the back of the truck so I paid $8.99 + tax for a 50# bag. I know they aren't supposed to charge tax, but try to explain that to an employee in training.

They popped me for $10.75 each for 50# It's some of that BioLogic deer corn (same crud everyone else bags up...only 7% crude protein, 7% crude fat). I think I get some extra down in Coleman the next time I need corn for the feeder at home.

Right now Cabelas has a coupon going out for $10.00 off - no minimum purchase. The bags of corn are 5.99, BUT they price match. They are 40lb bags, but even if you go in with a coupon you may leave with 4 bags, when in reality you are only paying for 2... guess anything helps in this day and time?? I have had them price match 4.50 (Which is what it goes for at our local feed store...)
