I think I've done mine, but I would love to have another one like this, ending with the martini.

quote=bill oxner]We found 17 coveys this afternoon in a little under a 3 hours. This is a new record for this pasture. We went out for an hour yesterday and found 4 coveys. Here are a couple of pictures from yesterday. This is Yeats with his front foot up. Payson is doing the shooting. Birds got up like popcorn from this bush.

We were headed to the windmill which you can see in the upper right hand corner, but birds got in our way;

Clifford had a pretty hot hand this afternoon. I remember him pointing 5 coveys. This is one of the;

This was a Garmin find;

Clifford again, with Cracker literally doing the honoring.

Does this beat football, or what?

This is ET whth his new free coat. I told him that the coat was worth about what he paid for it. OOPS!! I hunted with him all afternoon and just noticed his necktie;

Cracker is my wife's little baby. She keeps asking why I don't include more pictures of cracker. This is for you Paulette;

Martini time. Let's pick them up;

Tomorrow is a holiday. We may go back to get Yeats on a couple more coveys.

Re: Bucket List Hunt - 08/02/18 01:01 AM

Starting to knock out some of the lower end bucket list hunts now.

Been fortunate to have killed some good animals across several species of game.

The ones I really want to do before I get too old are the Dagestan Tur, Bezor ibex or alpine ibex and some type of argali thst doesent require a snow suit and oxygen supplement. The snow sheep in Kamchatka is on the list.

The ones I want to do at some point are sambar or Rusa deer in Australia, stag in Argentina and Sonora mule deer

Honestly, a hog hunt in Texas. I have no family here, my work does not put me in touch with a hunting crowd, and I am not interested in an overpaid staged Disney ride shoot with a bunch of numnuts.

I just want my nemesis 8 point that I've hunted for the last 3 seasons. He's not a trophy to most folks here, but we have so much history that I'd be more than proud to put a tag on his rack. He'll be 7.5 when the season starts and he ain't getting any dumber.

Alaska - Caribou/Moose - Load up in a small plane and get dropped off in the middle of nowhere with your guide and buddies for about 10 days. Ideally, with only enough food to barely survive. If you want to eat good you need to harvest.

I have to admit I'm getting older so I better get this trip in before my body won't let me.

I was looking at an Alaska caribou drop-camp hunt yesterday. Still a bargain all things considered. I think it’s hard to pair with a moose hunt though because of the different places they inhabit. But you can do a moose drop camp hunt too. Maybe do them back to back?

I was thinking either/or. But if I can run into a load of cash or convince my wife going on both trips would make me a better husband, back to back would be awesome!
