Lampasas deer hunting - 07/28/18 02:33 PM
I am looking at some property east of Lampasas. Just wondering if anyone has hunted in that area and what quality of deer there are.

Good deer all over the county I think the western part has the better deer.

There's more people east of Lampasas, haven't seen that many deer though. About 3 miles east on 190, there is the Crawford Ranch, high fenced and big dollar deer. He use to raise some good whitetails but haven't heard that much about it lately.

Yeah, I’ve hunted north of Lometa a few years back. Lots of deer but opening season sounded like Falluja.

We are near Topsey and are very happy with our experience.

I am between lometa and Adamsville and have really big neighbors. Deer hunting is really good, not much pressure. The turkey hunting is the best I have seen in the state personally.

years ago, hunted SW of Kempner, ranch split between Lampasas & Burnet counties west of the river. lots of quantity, not much quality but all the ranches were meat hunters and it didn't matter if it was a 1.5 y/o, 2.5 y/o, 3.5 y/o, 4.5 y/o, etc. ... that was before Lampasas had AR though.
