Going to get ugly today!

They're predicting winds at 55-60 with gusts even higher, it's dry and almost 0 humidity. This is a perfect combination to have a bad fire, those high lines will be flopping.

Be careful out there.....

I saw Ks. had 70mph winds a couple of days ago, does not look good.

This will probably shut us down at work, too, which sucks, since we just got going steady again.

My son had his Hot Shot crew in Missouri doing prescribed burns in the Mark Twain forest. They pulled them off to go fight the Oklahoma fire. Now they have staged them on the Colo border because of how dry it is around all of you guys. Looking like a busy year already!!!!

Last I heard the Panhandle fires were finally partially contained.

Ward county has at least on fire that I've heard of. Post had a fire not to far out of town. The real bad wind is still about an hour out.

1 am and the wind is still gusting to 56 with sustained 44 here in Lubbock.

I think this is the worst wind I’ve seen since I’ve lived here. It’s been doing this all day and it’s just getting worse.

Dust blowing? I lived 40 years there, and it is the one reason I could never live there again.

Battling fires already in the panhandle. Dust storms causing havoc. Bad bad bad situation.
