Black cat spotted this morning - 01/25/18 05:14 PM

My neighbor just texted this pic to me

A black cat - looking travelling between his property and mine

I want to say it s a dog but that shoulder is too low
his wife has seen
It before and said it has a small head

S Eastland

Goat raisers? If that were a cat, I'm sure the Pyrenees would have made short work of it. Could it be a stray black lab?

My guess is feral cat. Look how small it is compared to the fence.

Re: Black cat spotted this morning - 01/25/18 06:35 PM

Unless that's an eight foot fence, it looks like a black house cat to me.

Re: Black cat spotted this morning - 01/25/18 10:23 PM

Neighbor's wife was the one that took the picture

She said it was as tall as the young goats they have in the pen
(As it passed by). .baby goats (kids) are 18" plus tall

I m going to give him some game cams to set up
Near his goats .... see if we can get a definitive answer

I ve seen paw print in Eastland that s as big as my hand
And have friends that have seen Big Cat ... not surprised
When neighbor sent me pic

We re going to set up some thermal sessions with chickens in a cage

Because you have to believe before you can see.

Bring us the carcass of a dead black panther and not more blurry pics and unverified accounts.

That is a house cat. But since deer season is over it's time for some Bigfeets type threads so bump to the top.

Even if you kill it and it is a black panther, by the time you get back from the house with your camera it will have crawled off.

Yup I think it's to small to be anything but a big feral cat.

Re: Black cat spotted this morning - 01/30/18 02:38 PM

I agree with the fence comment, to me it looks like it is walking. Had bee crouching the front shoulder would be even lower. With the fence close to it I would say it's not very tall. Might put a trail cam on a post and see if it shows up again.

Re: Black cat spotted this morning - 01/30/18 03:09 PM

That is it! The first true documented black panther.
It is no longer a myth, urban legend or dream.
The real thing, biologists from all over North America will be descending on Eastland county to verify the only real black panther ever.
Good job, whoever took that pic will be rich and famous!

I saw one of these in a Chinese Restaurant the other day, there was a sign on the buffet that read "Moo Goo Cat Pan"

Re: Black cat spotted this morning - 01/30/18 07:04 PM

Given the area it was seen in, that is a genuine spynx cat!
It has obviously traveled outside of its normal river bottom habitat.

A friend of mines Mama and them saw one recently but due to concern with them laws coming around and the fact that Joe Bob didn't have his hunting licenses with him, they let that particular spynx cat get off unshot.

Re: Black cat spotted this morning - 01/30/18 07:15 PM

They must be becoming more populated in other areas......this was obviously a young black panther due to size. It was stealthy and stalking an adult doe at a corn feeder in December.

But I think it was a vegetarian black panther since it started eating corn instead.
