Moore County 4-H / Ammarillo Chapter of Ducks Unlimmited Whacking and Stacking - 12/11/17 07:06 PM
Recently our 4-H hunting and shooting group was offered a great opportunity to hunt ducks and geese. Considering that I have no duck and geese hunting equipment and an equal amount of knowledge and experience on the subject I called the Amarillo chapter of Ducks Unlimited for backup.
Three men showed up with two pickups full of gear, and two retrievers. They hunted with our youth from legal light until nearly dark. See the results below.
We wound up with 49 geese including 41 snows and I forgot how many ducks.
A special thank you gows out to Nathan Beyer, Skyler Beyer, Chad Robinett for there time, experience and the use of their equipment. We also need to thank Todd Berenti of Panhandle Waterfowl for furnishing the youth with lay down blinds.
It appears that we are of to a great start on this property, and our new friends at Ducks Unlimited.
We also managed to get in some rifle practice for our doe hunt on the Sneed Ranch. Here are the youth zeroing scopes and target practicing. The hunt is this coming Saturday.
