There is a checkered garter snake.....it might be one of those. Regardless, it's not one of the four poisonous ones. We should all learn to recognize the few poisonous snakes and kill them, then leave the non-poisonous ones. There is only a limited amount of snake food, and by leaving the non-poisonous ones, we reduce the chance of getting bit by poisonous ones.

Looks like a juvenile corn snake....maybe a juvenile racer......
