Starting Rut report!!

I am in stand now Hunt county bucks are splitting up starting to follow doe I think mabey 2 more weeks . What are y'all seeing?

Rut was kicking hard on Oct. 28 and 29 in Robertson County. My boy got a buck and you could smell that sucker coming in. Saw 5 bucks on one doe at 13:30 Sunday the 29th. She ran passed us and the chasing was on. Haven't been since then. Bucks were all still hanging together in Webb county last week.

Thanks. The 2nd one he's ever taken. It was in full rut on Oct 28, nose to the ground and checking the feeder area for a hot doe. Tarsals were totally black and he had that "buck funk" going on.

All bucks I saw Nov 5-6 in Lee county had split up, only saw one 2 1/2 year old actually chasing but the doe wasn't having it yet. I think with cooler weather this weekend should be much better.

Youth season we had both mornings at 31 degrees an the rut was on. Since then my buddy who lives in the area says it shut down. I've seen deer trailing from Oct to Dec some years

Think about 2 weeks for full hunt county rut.i have been looking over my pics from previous years I have killed big bucks thanksgiving and Christmas but I hunt allot before so it's no consequence It is on quick and then gone fast easy to miss if you take a break.

Rut STARTED mid October on my place, just like it has every year for the past 30 years I've been hunting it. Now, if you are talking about the PEAK of the rut, still a week to ten days out.

So far no chasing center hill, houston county. Lots of fresh scrapes but no leaves in them yet

Yes I guess I'm talking about peak I seem to get a regular deer patern almost same every morning. Then there is those few days were everything is suddenly different doe running bucks on there trail bucks that you haven't seen coming from places you have not seen deer come that's really exciting !!

Robertson County will peak starting today through next weekend normally. These deer were taken between the 9th and the 14th consecutive years.

A good friend got really nice buck yesterday in hunt county he said it was not smelly but did come out behind some doe. I am seeing similar activity . Ck. This pic.

Three bucks following does this morning. Probably should have shot the first one, nice 8pt. Center Hill, Houston county.

Chasing going on in Dickens for 2 weeks. Have seen more nice buck then in the last 6 years peak rut is about a week away

Rut is just starting in my part of Erath. Seen more deer this year than ever before. Our mngmt plan is finally paying off. It has mainly consisted of managing to keep finger off the trigger.

No real sign of rut here yet but typically it's starting about now.

A buck had a doe penned today almost in camp today in Montague. No one saw a doe or older buck all weekend. Just little guys cruising.

Bucks are chasing in Menard County. I also got a report of heavy rutting activity in eastern Schleicher County.

Bucks are split up in hunt county starting to see lots deer run over and on roads at night bucks are following doe not chasing yet I think great hunting next 2 weeks I will hunt every time I can. Thanks for the good reports my friend Ron we have hunted years together said rutting in Runnels near Ballinger!

Didn't shoot anything but my brother went out to my place and said the does were relaxed and hanging around the feeders again, only saw 2 bucks. We had been seeing several. Lots of acorns falling.

Sounds like it's over there just the opposite here doe are jumpy and the groups are split seeing several lone deer walking trough my area

Yeah the peak rut where I am is Nov 10-15 or so it will kick up again next month for a little bit but won't be like it was last week.

Talked to local taxidermist he said bucks coming in with the story they are chasing .i have seen 11 doe this morning no bucks yet

Little rutting going on now around the brenham tx, lake somerville area. Some young bucks last friday already got the mood. Sniffing and heads down moving! still no pigs and im happy! One nice big tom bob cat last week, thats my good squirrel getter!

Coming home from church about noon and saw a very good buck running along hwy 271 just north of big Cypress south of Mt pleasant. Did not see any doe, too much traffic.

Saw a nice buck chasing a doe about 3pm yesterday (Sunday) afternoon about 100 yards off 2441 outside of Goliad

They are hitting biger corning those cuts stops them just long enough. What do you think he was chasing doe and stoped about 2 or 3 min this pic at 300 yds

I could not see really good but counted 11 g2 tall on right side did not get good look at left let him walk

Just saw large buck chasing doe.the doe ran across cut and buck followed shortly kinda like if you are running from Jason and he catches you but he only walks!

I think that's about it for hunt county untill December rut hope you had good hunting I did got lots good pics!

I've hunted every day this season except for four days looks like to rut in hunt county is winding down does are bunched back up however I did see a nice big buck following 4 doe yesterday they came across my cut and he followed shortly he stopped on the corn and eight for a few minutes I got a real good look at him. I throw corn in the roads and in the Cuts before I hunt it has been very successful for me these last several years they come to it better than They do the corn under the feeders.I am looking forward to the cold spell coming next week got my buck last year on December 6 looks like a good day again this year!

Daylight untill 7:59 AM nothing then suddenly to the south of me steps out a beautiful six point buck one of the nicest six points I've ever seen I watched him as he slowly walks off try to take a few pictures but they we're not good. I look around and I see doe stepping out to the south of me about 150 yards there are seven of them they scatter suddenly . Out steps large buck with one beam only on the right and four points on the left he follows the doe into the woods then I look around and to the east of me four more stepping out at my feeder.The doe at the the feeder become alert as a bobcat steps out I watch as They chased him off.The other deer that had scattered eventually work their way up to my feeder. I took good pic. They stayed several minutes then they left . They were followed by nice buck 9 or 10 point so that's 3 bucks and 11 or 12 doe in less than 1 hour. Just now 2 small doe 35 yards to the south I have been covered up since 8:00AM

Mabey they are still chasing what are y'all seeing?

Two bucks on corn that I threw out this am did not follow doe I had 18 to 20 doe came through early was windy they stayed awhile the bucks came in late one 8 point 2 1/2 then 5 to 6 yo counted 6 on left wide and tall could not judge rt Side looked sym. Missed the big one at about 250 yds.he was right by a camera see if I got pic.

Weird year for me - I didn’t see a lot of intense chasing/pairing up (the buck I killed was the only one I saw paired up with a doe) but have seen bucks cruising all year. Even up through last weekend. They are usually slowed down to shut off by the weekend after Thanksgiving at my place (Houston county). Going to sit with the camera this weekend and am real curious to see if they are still out and about.

Same here in hunt county I was really going to let everybody know when peak rut was on best I can say just before thanksgiving! Killed big buck Dec.6 2016 missed really nice one Dec.5 2017

Got this buck broken up bad following 2 really young doe. Got this pic 10 min ago.

He has ran them by me twice this morning he did non stop under feeder but did nible some corn that I threw out this Am.

Have seen 5 bucks this Am. This small one is eying big boy that I saw go in brush and won't come back out.shortly after this pic he went in and got sent a running. It is like this very day happened one year ago yesterday exactly same activity I have had my riffel out every window in stand.thank goodness only view is to the north south and east these deer are crazy to
day I've only seen one really big one just briefly I hope I get one in a minute everybody should get to hunting!I just had to put the phone down The biggest doe that I have seen all year steps out about five seconds later Nice buck jumps right out on her chases her off in the brush then They go right by me again it's crazy! That makes 6 different bucks only 8 or 9 doe.

Chasing yesterday all morning Had deer on me till 11Am. No really big bucks but lots activity.out this morning with my son going to get big one!

Rare photo deer I shot was on trail by a camera got pick when I knocked him down and he was getting up second shot was too gruesome to post he dropped then got up I hit him too high.

Saw really mature buck with young doe this morning same thing about 6 years ago got this one on Christmas Eve he was with young doe.
The buck this morning was huge but main beam broaken entirely off on rt side only brow tine. Left was g2 over 1 foot and 4 more extremly tall times.
