I prefer to use my Taurus Judge with #7 1/2 or #8 shot, thank you.

Those that pick up snakes are are much more likely to get bit than those that leave a snake alone.

Smooshed a baby copperhead at the doorstep the other night with my crocs on and didn't like that feeling much. I have a feeling my new townhome neighbors wouldn't have been pleased with the report of a judge confused2

But-- you won't catch me picking up a 'NOPE ROPE' and whipping it!!!

Not just no....

I've spun out on them, braked/slid over them, used a hoe, shotgun, pistol, rifle, shovel, large rock, tree limb, steel post, idiot stick and probably some other things I'm forgetting. But as said above, I'm not about to lay bare hands on a poisonous snake.

I don't see them very often. But when I do I use a 12 gauge.

A hoe is the weapon of choice for snakes. I have one leaned up permanently on each side of the house.

One of the hands I worked with when I was a kid picked a little one up when it crawled into the shop. He lost an arm and was lucky not to die. The hospital bills were over $30K, 25 years ago. He got fired the day he was released from the hospital.

You couldn't pay me enough to pick up a rattlesnake.

I've picked up live rattlesnake before, but not like that, and I sure never recommended anyone else do it.

No big deal; friend growing up kept 60 or so in his bedroom and every time we went over, he got the biggest one out and played with it.

Having seen this, I'm not sure that I will ever feel the need, or even have a slight desire, to kill one up close like that vs from a distance. If it aint broke, don't fix it.

Found this guy yesterday sunning in the middle of the drive trail on one of the ranches we service. I found no reason to kill it, so I prompted him off the road and we all lived happily ever after.

No kidding. I don't trust my towel-snapping technique enough to do this (and I'd also never pick up a live rattler like this weirdo). I'd probably short arm it, not snap it's neck, and just whip it back towards my body and get bit in the damn face.

If this one was about a foot longer, I would have ate him. As it was, I escorted him off the lease road to get fatter for our next encounter.

Yep he is a bad [censored] until that sucker one day swings around and gets him - then he is running for his truck to find a hospital to save his butt - media makes people do really stupid stuff - the older one gets the more one figures out that sooner or later karma will get you

That moment you read something and it's just the most no b.s. thing you have ever read but reading it still blows your mind.
