You shoot a deer on private land and it runs onto national forest land and dies? Yes my spot will be that close to the boundary. Call GW and let him sort it out?

You can't go wrong by doing that. Call the GW, so someone does not report you as shooting on the national forest land. However there better be blood on your side of the fence and a trail of it leading to your deer or your going to be in a world of trouble with the GW.

Might call now and ask the GW, that way you won't sit waiting if he is busy at the time.

Leve your weapon behind and go in. Give the deer plenty of time

I would put up signs on the fence/bored that say something like, "Deer Hospital This way ---->" so the deer don't go that way.
Jes sayin..
Isn't National Forest public hunting anyway?

I'd buy the APH permit. Cheap insurance!

Good advice. And keep some hunter orange handy in the stand just in case.
