Finally pulled the trigger

Finally pulled the trigger - 09/02/16 04:47 AM

A few weeks ago i posted a question on here about UTVs. I was actually thinking about buying one from tractor supply. Nobody supported that idea. Then one guy pointed out for just a bit more I could get just about any of the major brand UTVs. That made sense so I started looking at them all. We own a mule 600 but it's a bare bones one and its weak. Most guys on here swore by them. I went and tested all the models. They were decent. I went and tried every model. The Yamaha was really cool. Polaris seemed like the whole package to me. Our land in West Tx is really rough and when it rains you better be on your way out cause the roads turn to mush and truck with mt's and 4wd can not even stay on the road.

I ended up with a mid sized Ranger 570 hunter edition. Kent power sports in Kyle actually matched the lowest price I could find which came from Del Rio Polaris. The guys at Hoffpear had a great reputation from other buyer but didn't come close to what Del rio offered.
Once I found the bottom line I was shocked that Kent matched it just to get my business.
I'll be picking it up Saturday morning and headed to the lease for doves. Thank u yall for all the advice. If anyone on here is in the market for one of these I can give you lots of advice on how to get a decent deal.

Awesome! Grats! Cannot go wrong with a Ranger. I have a 2013 Ranger 500 EFI Crew and love the heck out of it. It has saved me many a time going where my truck would have gotten torn up wink

I dealt with Kent for a few minutes. The sales rep told me that he couldn't even touch the deal that I got from Central TX Powersports in Gtwon. He was $2700 above them and he was honest and said he couldn't and to go buy it

Glad you got a good deal!

Oh man no pics for another week. Just worked a Lon long day only to find out I won't be picking up the Ranger cause there is a recall on a heat shield and it won't be ready. I guess the only good news is I still get to go hunting. Bummer tho

They told me the same thing and then called me back to tell me they found a hunters edition they could get me for a little less money with more accessarys on it and better seats

Congratulations. There is nothing like having a brand new, reliable, go anywhere vehicle to get you where you want to be!!!! When it rains at my place, I don't even try to walk in the mud, it's just so much easier getting in the Mule and driving through the mess!!!!

Congrats on the Polaris. The Hunter Edition is worth the extra money when you add up the extras over what it would cost you aftermarket and the adjustable seat is a nice touch over the base model as well. We have a 570 in one of our RZR's that we use to drain fields and I have been very impressed with that motor over the three years we've had it, not as torquey as the 900/1000 but more than enough power.

Still breaking her in but I did a little work yesterday with it and it was awesome. I have a 5x10 trailer and had it loaded with 52 10 ft deck boards. The deck I'm building it on the back corner of the house and a truck won't make it back there without destroying the yard. Ranger pulled it without any struggle.

Only thing I don't like is it seems like it runs hot. Temp gauges look fine but man you can feel heat when you stand next to it.

Re: Finally pulled the trigger - 09/12/16 02:13 PM

It's going to get hot when being taxed with a pull like that and you aren't moving all that fast. The newer the ride the more they've pushed the motor back which has helped especially on the 900's and 1000's. The fan should kick on around 195-200F. Congrats on the Ranger, it should bring you many years of trouble free use.
