I'll bet I have the world record

Most live weight in the back of a polaris ranger.

Twinbubba's innovative game loading process made me smile. Thought I'd share what innovation and creative thought can do as well.

Had a trapper come out to trap some eland off my place. It's a pretty incredible process. We started with a few calves that are now in a zoo in Vietnam. Ended with this 3 yo bull. Polaris beds rotate 90 deg and we did it similar to twinbubbas rig except we had a front winch to help.





The word "adventures" is in there for a reason...

How much do those things weigh? Looks like it hasn't missed a meal.

That one was young and probably weighed around 1100-1200#.

They get up to around 1500. The Lord derby eland get over 2000#.

And hope to hell he don't wake up. I never seen any thing like that. How much did it take to put him out?

He isn't "out" Don. This trapper nets them from a chopper, and his son and a few runners go hog tie them. Not for the faint of heart. I have more pics. I'll post them later today.

I hauled at a whole oryx on a four wheeler on one of the off range hunts in New Mexico. It was definitely a rodeo.

I don't think so. This trapper brought his own chopper pilot.

That is amazing. And not even sedated. Was EMS out there while this was going on?

No! These guys were awesome. One of the Raz young men from Harper was the one who knew we could get that big bull in the bed of that polaris. We hauled a trailer to most of the others but that bull was in some thick stuff we couldn't get near with a trailer.

They had a chopper, two 4 wheelers and my little ranger. The chopper would net them and those kids (including one of the trappers sons) would haul azz to where the animal was. They ALWAYS had it hog tied by the time I got there.

It was one of my most interesting days on the ranch. And that trappers son was an awesome kid. I was worried more for him than his dad was. Evidently he does this all the time. But I was nervous until the last animal was on the trailer.
