Worlds dumbest yote and hunter.

First let me say the yote is dead and yes I shot him.

Yesterday I was going by the base of the peak and spotted a yote about half way up the mountain just standing broadside and looking at me. I made a grab for the Weatherby and I forgot to take it out of it's case. Get it out of the case and out the window and forgot to flip the lens covers up. Get the covers open and settle down on the shoulder and "click". Get the shells out of the case and load the 257 and finally a satisfying boom and a very dead yote. I'm pretty sure the yote could hear me cussing the whole time this was taking place. I guess he just hung around to see what other stupid thing I'd do next.

wish I could have been with you to see that, but my laughing most likely would have scared the yote away.

Lol, sounds like some of my trips. There ain't nothing like a little unpreparedness to throw a little excitement into things. Glad you got him.

Sure happy to see all the coyotes have moved over to your ranch. I have not seen or heard one coyote on my place, this deer season. I did see a bobcat run across the road on my place. Ill get after him in a few weeks.
