Is it October or August ? These temps

Is it October or August ? These temps - 10/12/15 04:25 AM

Sat in my tree stand today and sweat my @$$ off......

All I saw were 2 does at the 7am feeder go off and a bunch of squirrels in near by trees.
Wondering if we will even have a rut this year with as warm as it is keeping everything so green.

At this rate deer will stay nocturnal and lay low during the day to stay cool.

I hear you. But despite the temps lately, I've got bucks sparring on camera. Of course this was at night.

The rut will come regardless.

If your not hunting near a water source right now you should be. up

Luckily for rifle season my blind is 131 yards away from the feeder and 83 yards from the pond

It has been unseasonably warm/hot. It was upper 90's yesterday in Knox County. And what is this El Nino they keep speaking of? We haven't had any measurable amount of rain since July. Tanks are dry or very low. The good lord gave us such a good Spring. I guess I should have never dropped the rain from my prayers, even when dams were being breached and spillways overflowing.

As a kid in Marshall, I always considered September to be the hottest month. That might have been lack of A/C at Davy Crockett Elementary or just that I was not outside anymore and summer was over.

But yep. it's hot again. I turned on the A/C in the Cave last night.

I always wait until late September or early October to plant to avoid the dry, summertime heat. The seeds have been in the ground for going on three weeks now and they still have yet to see a rain.

I think is a lie about El Niņo and it's going to hotter and dryer than ever. They are saying elnino is coming but the water is just hotter in the pacific due to it being hotter on earth. Also the earth changed its rotational axis by thousand of miles and now we are near the equator and we are all going to die a slow hot burn:)

Or it's the same as every year in Texas...hot until mid November.

El Niņo is a winter event. It doesn't start until late December.

Haha, for a minute there I thought we had uncovered a mole in our midst. Someone that poses as a hunter but is really an enviromental extremist undercover..you know, the kind that would say global warming is because of the heat generated from the guns going off during hunting season...

But seriously, as far back as I can remember the first cold spell was always around halloween...Not that it lasted, but that was the point at which it started cooling down for good....
