Erath-in the stand now part 3

Erath-in the stand now part 3 - 10/08/15 11:40 PM

I was gonna' go fishing but decided to sit out one more evening. I'm sitting overlooking a Spanish oak hillside with a pond down below. Very scenic with the sumac starting to turn crimson. Waitin' on a certain pig. He only comes around once in a blue moon. Speaking of 'Blue moon', I think I'll have one. Dead quiet and a little warm right now.

I burned this whole valley back in february, the bluestem and Indian grass looks beautiful...Still pretty warm, morning hunt would probably be better. Hard to get up at 0500 to shoot a pig though.

Best part is he flopped around squealing, then he limped off into the cedars. Hey. Buzzards gotta' eat too. Thanks for reading...That was fun.

Just got back to the house to reload, beer, that is. Picked up the spotlight and headed back to get him, or not. Depends on bad he's hit. My Wife's girlfriend wanted me to shoot her one. She's quite the chef. Back in an hour or so.

I almost forgot. My arch nemesis is dead. Found him up in some rough stuff. This part of our place looks like Rocksprings. Rough and rocky. After driving over my ankle with the 4 wheeler, I decided that the big bastage can be buzzard bait.

Re: Erath-in the stand now part 3 - 10/09/15 03:06 PM

I was backing up slowly in the tall grass and got high centered on a big rock. The 4 wheeler was going over so I threw my leg down to stabilize it, then let off the gas and the bike rolled forward, crushing my ankle. Doesn't hurt this morning...Sidenote, I got another armadillo that was rooting up the yard too. That makes 3 this week.
