A Little Different Hunt

A Little Different Hunt - 09/28/15 03:58 PM

While most of you are preparing for the archery Whitetail Season, I am loading my dogs and gear to go to the Navajo Nation for a mountain lion hunt. I am taking my hounds and bride of nearly 40 years along with our youngest son, Steve to run the camera. I am hoping to tree a lion for Deb on dry ground which most hunters don't attempt. I train my dogs and hunt them on dry ground here and hoping that we can cut a track less than a day old. I will be hunting 6 blueticks, all of which I have trained and 5 of six I bred and raised. Temperatures will be in the mid 40s to the mid 70s and will be dry according to the long range forecast. I will be thinking about you guys that are sitting in a bow stand and sweating.
Adios,
Gary

Lol. Got on a big one this morning. Didn't tree. Bayed for a little bit, chewed on a dog then lost them up a cliff

A couple Treeing Walkers would be nice to take along to put some pressure on. Will you have to boot your hounds where your going? I know some places in NM that will cut the pads right off in a hours time.
