Need Help!**Axis Recovered! **

9yr old son just shot an axis doe with his 7mm-08 139gr SST at 75yds. Found blood and other clear fluid and actually jumped her twice. Each time she's only run about 25yds before bedding down.

I've decided to back out a few hours. Thoughts on if he gutshot her? That's what I'm thinking.

Back off for a couple of hours is your best bet unless you can find someone with a tracking dog.

She'll die, just wait her out.

Gutshot ya can usualy smell... If only going 25 yrds, would try to humainly put it down with second shot....

Yeah, in the last spot she bedded it stunk to hell. Area is very thick with tall grass.

Each time we jumped her she was only 20 yds away but like I said the cover was too thick to shoot.

Probably a gut shot. Let her lay and see if she jumps in an hour. I bet she passes by then after already being jumped twice

Successful recovery! Found her still alive lying just 50yds from where we jumped her last. No gutshot tho. Hit abit too far forward and made a neck shot.
