Doesn't pass the smell test to me! If the hotel is 900 yards from the blind then the place would have to be in the city limits it seems and why would you need to know where to park. $50 PayPal deposit bolt

Wouldn't touch it.

900 yards is over a half mile, there are a few motels on IH 10 that are on the edge of town. Not sure on the exact location of the place in the ad, but I can find 2 or 3 motels that would be within that hunting distance at Abilene.

I have wasted $50.00 before. Might be worth the chance? Isn't there a guarantee on PP purchases?

Yes there is. He may want it sent as a gift which is not insured, if that's the case pay the extra 3% yourself and get it insured. $250 for an axis doe isn't so cheap that I would think it was a scam. The chance at a buck is probably just to get more business, he might not see them that often so worth throwing in there.

The phone number links to a guy named Carlos Moore on Facebook. No information on his page, but he has enough friends in the area that he seems like a real person. If he owns or has legal access to the land, it seems like it might be legit. It would be worth the time to give the guy a call and get some specific answers before booking the hunt

He might be setting you up to be robbed.

Thanks for the input. Will look into it.

900 yds from the motel doesn't sound strange. We quail hunt a place that we can unload the mule at the Motel and drive less than 200 yds (across the road) and you are quail hunting. Or don't cross the road and drive about 300 -400 yds down the side of the road and you are in another pasture, that pasture is where I saw the biggest buck I have seen on the place. He was probably about 900 yds from the motel. I would call & talk to him.

Hey, those are pics I posted on here!

No, not really.

But, as was already said, that guy can't string a coherent ad together to save his life. RUN!!!

That was my impression as well, by the time I got to the end of it, I was expecting " I got alien body parts" or "I got cheap post" peep

Could be as the others said though, is it a regional reasonable price and conditions? IDK, but cost nothing to call.

I don't have any bee colonies, but I'm willing to risk $50 and three yellow jacket nests for a hunt.

I can remember when some of the motels on I-35W were surrounded by pasture. You could shoot skeet on the parking lot. Hunt as soon as you walked off the pavement.

The ad is also on the San Antonio Craigslist. I just came through Kendall County about 15 minutes ago. It would have handy to stop and take a look. Lots of axis in the area.

I would be highly suspicious of it.

Comfort is not a city (yet, very small town surrounded by land). It is a very possible legit hunt due to the area; but most likely it's like all day hunts, where you might or might not see an animal and notice that all the deer pics are night time photos. I live 13 miles from Comfort and let me say that some of those fellas aren't the sharpest crayons in the box.

With so many people using their phones for posting ads on Craigslist, the last thing I would do is not reply to something I was interested in because of a spelling error or their grammar. Just typing this, I had to change two words that my computer told me I misspelled.

If I lived in the area, I would give him a call.

This guy has been running this add for a while. I contacted him a while back and its pretty much like hunting a lot. There is a blind set up with a feeder. I was going to trade him some beekeeping stuff but decided not to in the end.

My guess is this is the small property on the river as you drive on 10.

Google Carlos Moore, Boerne Tx. First hit is a Beware link regarding Craigslist posts and dealing with birds (trade options listed would have me think it's the same person)

I have 2 buddies at work who looked into this and they both came up with it being a scam. One of them has kin around there and said its bs. The other contacted the guy and said he was shady to say the least.
