Inept hunting/conservation organizations - 09/01/15 04:26 PM

Decided not to renew my membership in the Muledeer Foundation. My friend in west Texas that organized one banquet a couple of years ago is a cantankerous old cuss and just quit. Another member on here has been trying to get info on the Bexar county chapter with no luck. Similar experience with the Quail Coalition down here. I realize they are volunteer groups, but dadgumit, don't volunteer if you're not going to handle business. I want to support wildlife with my money, but I'm not just writing a check to fools for warm fuzzys. RMEF and DU seem to do alright.

How?

Both land conservation groups..unless Mule deer guys want elk highly thinned or eliminated

That's the idea most muley folks have. What's good for elk populations is usually bad for mule deer.

I sick with the ones with a proven track record for:

1)Being organized/professional; and
2)Being transparent with most of the $$ actually being put "on the ground".

There are some that are neither, some that are either one or the other-but not both, and some that are both.

Only the ones that are both get my money.
