Check parks and wildlife for public land closest to you Texas is 97% (i believe) privately owned so there's not a lot of public land
Where are you located? Someone may offer for you to go hog hunting
Or you can purchase a guided hunt or a lease.

welcome to our great state.

Sniper John gave you great info on public hunting opportunities.

It can be very hit and miss because it's public and there are plenty of hunters.

Most land here is private. It's expensive to own and pay taxes on. Therefore gaining hunting access is not cheap.

Check out the leases and land section and outfitters section of this site. You can find hunts for meat for a few hundred bucks.

I wish you luck finding a place. up

Hey, hope you work it out. Georgia probably had a lot more hunting freedom. Isnt that Waddell's home state? Lots of woods and critters still left out that way? Ive hunted various states and Texas may be the most land barreniest. Like that word. Not being negative, just sayin. Those northern states trip me out the most. They will have those short window hunts and everybody puts blaze orange on and takes off walking all over every bodies property. Don't try that here, youll get busted or shot at. I knew a guy from way up north, I think it was Wyoming or Montana and he said all they did was just drive around out on the back roads and shot deer. roflmao Don't try that either. He said, but no one messed with us, and I said your not in Wyoming or where ever any more. Good luck on your hunting. I truly feel you on the new lost feeling and hope you make some new friends and hopefully they like to hunt as much as you do. Hey Ive got some huntin buddys still alive, but none of them hunt as much as I do. Some of us just have it in our DNA. up
