Game Camera Do they work?

Two questions....
Do the MMS "text pics to phone" game cams work? I have no reception on my lease on my phone. Do they still work in an environment like that?
If I go the other rote... What is the cheapest good game camera you would recommend?

If you have no cell signal at the lease then forget about the MMS type cams. They work quite well, but require a decent signal at least to work well.

I am looking to buy a new camera as I just had one of my several year old bushnells water logged, and am looking at the new bushnell aggressor line, around 179 for the low glow led and seems to have good reviews and combo of detection, quick trigger, pic quality, and battery life.

Thanks buckeye... So, I have T mobile and it is a dead zone but the guys who have verizon and ATT get reception out there. How does it work? Is a MMS camera linked to your data plan somehow or if different carriers get reception will I be ok?

I have AT&T on mine, that's who we have all our cell service with. For me it was an additional 10/month to add a line and with it I get unlimited text so that's how I set it up (with covert you had the option of text or data, data sends an email). So it was pretty cheap For me. I believe you can get a new line of service with unlimited texts on either of the two that work for around 20/month, but might be wrong. I would call either or both and just ask how much it would be to set up a new account with unlimited text. The way the cams work is you need a SIM card from a service provider in order to get the cam to send anything to you. The one exception to that is the bushnell camera (around 499) which has the SIM card already installed and uses ATT service but you still have a service plan you get through bushnell. They send so many cell pictures based on your monthly plan you use with them and can pay extra to get the large picture (or just wait until you get to the place to download them off the camera). For me, the covert was a cheaper option and cheaper monthly
Option with unlimited text pics so I went that direction. Since you don't have ATT, bushnell might be a good option for you...

I believe some of the guys here said you can use a sim card out of a old phone as a workaround, may try to PM Cast, I believe he was talking about it, but I may be mistaken.

For good reasonably priced TC Look at the Browning Stike Force red glow (avoid the Dark OPs) Heck of a camera for me, great online reviews as well, got mine here and they come with an additional 1 yr warranty and SD card.

This site also has great technical reviews on many cameras you can read through to find what your interested in.
