Dang! I'm gonna miss the season opener for Chachalaca's this year. It opens on Halloween.
Seriously though, why would they schedule Youth Only for Halloween? Son, you have a choice. You can go hunting with Dad or go out and get a year's supply of free candy from the neighborhood with your friends. I know it is how the calendar falls, but there will be a lot less youth weekend participation this year due to Halloween. Seems they could move it up a week without harm. Getting off soap box now.

Youth only has fallen on Halloween several times. Was like that was 15 years ago last time I hunted thst weekend

This years general deer season is a week shorter than last year. 8 weeks instead of 9.

Don't see any surprises on that one still opening and closing on pretty much the same dates as it has for years or at least 30 years I have lived in Texas.

Yes I dont understand why they short the highest density population by one week. I hate when the 31st falls on Saturday

I wish it was the same length every year but oh well. Next year it is 8 weeks as well then goes back to 9 for a few years the back to 8 and then back to 9...
