Pig vs feeder

Pig vs feeder - 05/06/15 03:52 AM

Well I knew better. Always stake the feeder legs. bang
This feeder has been up for about a year, and the jerk pig shows up two days after I put 330 pounds in the feeder.
The feeder is back up now, with three T post to boot.

This is a pig posing, and thinking "watch this you silly humans." And he appears to be smiling like he is going to enjoy what he is about to do.

Note the left feeder leg has moved, pig makes his move. This pig in no rookie, he has done this before.

Two disappointing things here. 300+ pounds of corn on the ground, and the fact that there isn't a pig smashed flat under it.

No need to say it, but, yes he has some cojones

So he invites the wife and kids

And his little buddies that will meet Mr. DP trap very soon. They are clearly in cahoots with this pig.

It sounds like a bad joke, but here is "two pigs in a barrel."

The neighbors dog found somewhere to play, they are also friends with this pig.

Well the corn is gone and my pig friend has shown me his displeasure by beating the crap out of my barrel and timer box.
The turkey is just thinking "where are the womens?"

Interesting story.

I thought 300 lbs might only last one nigt with that many hogs around. Apparently, they don't consume that much corn even given the opportunity. It makes me wonder if I should reduce my feedig time.

The times and dates are correct on the pictures (although not necessarily in order). I figured it took them about 12 days to finish it off.

Android not down loading pic's... From what read, lot of hogs.. scratch they must be small hog's... 300#, 12days ? Seen were 50# of corn gone in one night... U must have missef memmo bout hogs pushing over feeders on this form... Seen several on here, that suggested anchering legs on their feeders in past threads... My feeder only holds bout 40#.... They'll be back, so keep pressure on.. flag

Re: Pig vs feeder - 05/07/15 01:52 PM

Get a small piece of chain and stretch it from leg to leg on the feeder and attach it with bolts. It will keep the legs from spreading out.

I have a little of everything come through there. I didn't post any deer pictures but there are plenty.
My daughter (THF - Texas Princess) is going to try and exterminate some pigs at this location soon. And I hope this smart aleck pig is one one them.

Not too much. They are generally kept in the yard. They have never been seen during deer season.
