Looking at a small place for a me and a couple of friends that just lost our lease in Mills. Going to have a meeting with the LO this weekend. Any of you guys hunt or ever hunt out that way. I have been to the bridge several times, but always from the Mills side.

Use to hunt right off of 500. Good deer numbers some decent bucks.

I hunted about 1/2 down hwy 500 for 7 years. someone always got a good buck each year. Not everyone, but someone. Largest buck we had scored 135 and that was the first year we were on the place. we had 1200 acres and there were 8 of us. We got kicked off because son took over and leased it out from under us to corporate.

Oh, had our camp broken into "1" time during those 7 years.

We hunted at Bennett's old ranch in 2012...San Saba county...Google it...the tale reads like a soap opera...cattle rustling, death threats, etc etc

Anyway, lots of deer with a couple good bucks...best bucks only showed up around the first and secondary ruts...fun place. A ton of turkey's as well...

Good luck!
