Colorado Happenings... - 10/22/14 04:11 AM

Finally broke down and went and bought a booster for Wifi and now good to go on uploading pics. Been an eventful hunt so far, but I'm still sitting on a tag and hoping new bucks continue to drop down from the high country. 5 days left, but here's what's going on so far.

Beautiful pics and a great looking area to be hunting mule deer. Love to glass them from a distance and then put a sneak on one. Are you a guide or are you hunting for one yourself?

I submit that picture to those who insist no trouble can come from "rolling your own."

Seriously,at least you didn't lose a tractor,too.

He is. He can also now be found somewhere on the back 9 of the golf course. Would've loved a hole in that 1.

Ah paleeease, those are hills....with PH on'em grin

Rifleman, that one buck in the fuzzy photo, looks like a nice one.
Posted By: rifleman

Re: Colorado Happenings... - 10/28/14 02:12 AM

They be PH.. would see about 50 a day. For some ungodly reason, they're a tough draw in the unit and vouchers run about $6K despite them having to be restocked heavily after the 07-08 winter kill.

that one buck was an absolute stud, but he's a town/golf course deer. Figure one of those landowners around it will collect a $30K finder's fee for him in the next cpl years.

Posted By: rifleman

Re: Colorado Happenings... - 10/28/14 02:19 AM

sneaky..there were also PH in this one...

Posted By: Western

Re: Colorado Happenings... - 10/28/14 02:23 AM

I have golfed along side some of those "greens keepers", it is odd to be around such magnificent bucks on a course holding the wrong "tool" for the job, but they are a pleasure to just watch and hang out with.
Posted By: rifleman

Re: Colorado Happenings... - 10/28/14 02:29 AM

That one got pushed off the course for the day bc of good weather and heavy golf cart traffic.
Posted By: rifleman

Re: Colorado Happenings... - 10/28/14 02:29 AM

Heck, the buck with him is a low 180s deer.
