Get Ready Folks, Round Two of Bad Weather Today and Tomorrow - 04/27/24 11:29 AM

On the news this am they showed Tornado damage in Hill county and through out the Midwest, hope those folks are okay.
They are predicting a larger break out of bad weather today and tomorrow for N. Texas and the Midwest "aka Tornado Alley"

They suggest charging your phones, flashlights and anything else you will need if you lose power. Might buy a couple of bags of ice in case lose power to the fridge.
Below is a pic of the where the bad weather is supposed to be today and tomorrow.

I have been watching this for days as our annual shop guys that don't play golf golf outing is today and the annual workplace guided striper fishing deal is tomorrow. I don't think it's going to be that bad.

Never seen a full blown tornado, watched a wall cloud form in N Dallas that turned into a tornado about 5 minutes later, was also in a club when an F1 went over it but have never seen one touch ground.
Anyone on here seen or had a Tornado do damage to your place?

Some of yesterdays tornadoes.

Really unstable air present over west central, with NWS predicting 50/60 percent chance of severe weather today in Sweetwater, worse in Abilene. I feel sorry for the folks at the WASP Museum at Avenger Field. Their air show is this afternoon. So much work goes into putting these together.

had 5-6 close calls with no damage.
top 2 are ne of honey grove last yr. it went on to tear up a lot of stuff there to powderly.

second 2 are just sw of me, telephone got some damage but not bad, lifted about 30 seconds after the pics.

bottom is one that formed over the pasture across the road.

That time of the morning, channel 5 is the only local news on. I like channel 4 & 11 better.

I was in downtown when the one hit FW. Back then, newspaper machines were still all over the place. They were like missiles. Dumpsters were rolling around like soccer balls.

Seen many funnel spouts dip out of the clouds but never touch down while growing up overlooking the Lake Worth dam. We had an open underground garage that we shuffled down to when weather was bad.

I have seen more tornados than I care to really most from a distance. In 76 an F3 got shingles off part of the house and lots of trees down on the place. January 82 a F2 came through on Sunday afternoon Killed one about mile and half from the house and tore up several other houses and trailers near by. That Wednesday was still cleaning up at the poses place about a mile from the house during an ice storm. I have seen all or part of 20 Tornados or funnel clouds that did not reach the ground. Impressive and destructive and can be deadly. Helped with cleanup after several, houses that are demolished are extremely sad IMO.

Still fascinated by the awesome power of them but really hope I do not see another.

Ryan Hall Y'all is a good storm chaser channel on youtube for information. They are in a studio with contact to numerous storm chasers and better radar you find on most web sites.

PDS tornado warning Knox County, that is the most sever type of warning headed toward Rineland, Munday and Rienland. Have hunted that area for geese many times.

brother and I had 3 framing crews in Okie city when wichita falls got hit hard in 78 or 9 (looooong time ago), our builders insurance guy hired 2 of them to do tarps etc. and we were there 2 days after it hit.

looked like someone lined up d10's a mile or more wide and leveled the landscape. one slab had a stairs left with a half bath under, guy put a 25c per use sign up to "help with the mess".

have been in Okie city for 3 bad ones 2 in moore and one in midwest city, a few in edmond/area also were pretty bad.

I grew up iin Okie city/amarillo/dfw areas.

News said Oklahoma got pounded by tonadoes yesterday and last night, with Sulphur, Ok taking a direct hit, they mentioned one around Ardmore also.

Angus you still got your britches in your drawers?

I have experienced two memorable twisters, the first being the 1979 Wichita Falls tornado, I was a young kid staying with my aunt at the time. The most recent was the 2022 tornado here in Jacksboro. I have seen a few in between those that never touched down. I'm thankful we didn't get any of them here yesterday, just a nice 1.7" of needed rain.

Been in Kansas the last week and it's been very "Kansas" here lately... the Great Oz would be proud. But it has also insured that the turkey hunting has been crap.

It appears at least an f3 or possibly f4 hit downtown sulfur in OK, the city is devastated by age this morning and buildings are completely destroyed.

Ardmore and marietta both took hits as well, havent see the extent of the damage in either of those towns.

My place is north west of ardmore a little and was watching the weather, tornado after tornado just occupied that stretch from marietta north from 9:15 thrru midnight. Fortunately for me, i was west of it all, but feel terrible for those in the paths.

Word initially is two people have died. There may be more as daylight breaks. Horrible night for the southern central OK area.

Sulphur took the worst local damage. Marietta has a lot too. Not much to speak of in Thackerville in relative terms. Nothing 15 miles south (here).

Killer EF-4 tornado in Oklahoma is state’s first since 2016

MARIETTA, Okla. – A deadly tornado that tore a path of destruction across southern Oklahoma on Saturday night has been rated EF-4 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, marking the state’s first violent-rated tornado in nearly eight years.

According to the National Weather Service storm survey, the nighttime twister had winds between 165 and 170 mph along its 27-mile path.

The tornado started by crossing Interstate 35 just after 11 p.m. CDT before moving into Marietta, where one person was killed. It was on the ground for about 25 minutes before lifting several miles north of Dickson.

I grew up in Okie city/amarillo/north Tx. have you seen the one with the semi trailers in the air? I was in lancaster for that one, at cfi yard.

semi trailer from the schnieder yard, there were 4-5 in the air at once that we saw in lancaster.
