Skeet shooting dfw?? - 02/20/18 02:41 PM
Hey guys where is a good place to shoot skeet around the dfw area? I’d like someplace to go a couple times a month and shoot. I typically only shoot on family owned land but I get tired of driving 3hrs just to shoot a shotgun. Also what’s a round of skeet cost? How many targets in a round? These may be dumb questions. But, I’ve never done it and really want to get into this. Thanks

http://fossilpointe.net/Fossil Pointe north of Denton is really good. Skeet, sporting clays and trap.
You should look into coming out to my charity clay shoot in April. A lot of fun and you'll get a chance to meet a number of forum members.

Not sure if you're in Ft Worth, Pidcoke? Ft. Worth has Alpine Shooting range. I've heard its good, never shot there though.
I shoot clays at Elm Fork, (sporting Clays and 5-Stand) Their skeet fields are great but their electric "pulling" system throws the birds with a slight delay after you punch the button. Drives most experienced shooters crazy.
Haven't been to Fossil Point (just outside of Decatur) but I hear really great things about them. I will shoot my long range rifles there, makes it worth the drive.
To be honest, skeet has kind of taken a back seat to Sporting Clays. S.C. is much more "fun" to shoot. I need to sign up for dkershens fund raiser shoot, great fun, even better cause.

A couple of other spots on the Ft Worth side:
DFW Clay Target Sports Clay Sports Ranch This is a membership place, but your $39/mo includes 100 targets.

You can use the middle button (Credit) press and hold till it beeps this will add credits and will not have the slight delay you are speaking of.

NTSA has a bunch of shotgunners and a great shotgun setup. Get on the waiting list.

Alpine Range is still a great place to shoot skeet, trap, 5 stand and sporting clays. Skeet is $8.50 per round
elm fork and they have leagues
I need to try the new place in Ft Worth
