Grill marks

Lets see your grill marks. I'll go first. This was a half pound Nolan Ryan tenderloin. I shut the grill off just after I turned it.




I ate my salad while it rested.




It was great. I'm stuffed. You go next.

I have quit grilling my steaks on a propane grill. Use charcoal, and when coals are red hot I put the steak on. Drizzle garlic butter over it to sear, Pittsburgh Style. Comes out charred MR in 4 minutes, one turn. Just can't get these new grills to flare and char.

I paid $129 for my new 3 burner gas grill at Walmart. I don't even have to preheat it to get the marks of the tenderloin pictured above. It will reach 700 degrees in 3 minutes.

I prefer a 55 deg diamond pattern to 90 deg. Looks like you took more care with it.

Grill marks are over rated and just for show.not to say that I never tried to make them on my steak though.

we eat with our eyes first. just like a smoke ring. does nothing for the taste.
