I flipped my tv to a cooking show during a break in the football game. A lady was using butter flavored cooking oil in a pan with cornbread. I think I'll try it for several dishes. Ever use it?

Did not really care for it to fry with. Seemed to have a burnt taste when I fried with it (as compared to without butter flavor and same temperature). Worked pretty good when it was mixed into the item being cooked (bread, tortillas, etc).

How about just using real butter? Like our own home grown Falfurrias?

Real butter is redundant. I have several pan fried recipes which call for butter. You have to start off pretty hot. I start with a little cooking oil because the butter will burn. I add the butter after the browning has started.

Crisco has a butter flavored option IIRC.

I use butter, oil, or mix them. Fake butter flavoring is no good.
