Deep Fried Wild Hog Ham - 11/20/14 10:55 PM
I shot a little sow, roughly around 90 pounds. I have a bone in ham and I am considering deep frying it after I get finished deep frying my Thanksgiving turkeys. Has anyone tried this? Just curious if its worth the effort. Input appreciated.

No I've never tried frying a ham, but I have fried ribs. I cut them up, fried them, then seasoned them like cracklins when they came out of the oil. Good stuff! Curious to see how this turns out....

Turkeys fri fast because they are hollow and cook from both inside and out. I think it is going to take an exorbitant amount of time to fry a bone in ham.

The outside would be black nasty before you got the center cooked.

I'm not sure how this would work but let us know if you try. I've deep fried a whole back strap and the little end was too done and the big end was ok. I'm not sure unless you pre heat it somehow or hollow it out if this can be done.
