Del Frisco's - 01/07/23 07:39 PM

Going Tuesday for lunch. What should I get? Have only been to the one on spring valley about 18 years ago. We are going to the one on Legacy & tollway.

I haven't been since the plague hit but I got some filet medallions that came with a salad and mashed potatoes. It was good. Hopefully you are dining in someone else's dime.

There are two Del Frisco's. The Grille and the Steakhouse. I ate at the one west of the tollway. I believe it was The Double Eagle Steakhouse.

If it is the same menu as Fort Worth get the ribeye sandwich for lunch. It is outstanding.

Might as well go to Salt Grass and save the money, same parent company and same steaks.

Go to Capital Grill, much better. Just went there tonight, never disappoints

I went to Capital Grille for my birthday this year with my girlfriend and although it was good.....I didn't think it was $280 good. We had a couple apps, split a steak with a couple sides, a few drinks and a desert. I prefer paying for great seafood and cook steaks at home. YMMV?

Glad y’all got out there. I like to cook mine on the grill as well. My steaks I just like salt and pepper, but I have a great orange and lemon citrus thing going on with mahi steaks that’s really good.

Don't order one of thier dry aged steaks. Worst steak I've ever had.

Once you find a good butcher and buy a sousvide....steaks anywhere else become disappointing. Headed to Pappas Bros tonight for a business meeting and may go with lobster or fish.....

It’s not about the ability to cook a good steak at home. It’s about having a nice night away from home. We eat steak at home once or trice a week, sometimes we just don’t feel like cooking.

$280 isn’t bad. It’s an experience, a time to get away from the norm and treat yourself.

Their oysters are good. But if I’m going seafood, it’s going to be Trulucks

Del Frisco's "Grill" has a great menu. Some variety, good appetizers and service. We frequent the one in Southlake.

Two things I don't order out, steak and margaritas. I'd have to pay $80.00-$100 for an equally good steak I can cook at home for $20-25.00. A top shelf margarita that costs $20-25.00 can't touch my recipe I do at home for about $2.00-3.00. I don't mind dropping coin on a good meal, but it's for something I can't do at home.

I agree about a night out and not wanting to cook....I just don't order steak. Back to my point, when you know how to buy and cook steak, go out and eat something else.

Don't guess you'd share that margarita recipe. I love 'em!

3-2-1
3 oz Casa Migos tequila, 2 oz Hiram Walker triple sec, juice of one thin skin fresh lime, dash of salt. Shake in ice. Rim glass in Tajin. Pour over ice. Take a sip. Thank me, slam the balance. Make another.

I loved the old one on Spring Valley but can't stand the new one in Plano. Going there is an absolute chore and to top it off I have to drop $600 bucks for meals for four people and drinks. Because of the layout it is simply too noisy for me and I can hear nothing except for a wall of white noise. The booths are also not comfortable.

Couldn’t agree more. When Landry’s took over and closed the Spring Valley location, it really lost its feel & quality

Many moons ago took my future wife to the Spring Valley location, loved it.

Re: Del Frisco's - 01/16/23 05:55 PM

Dang, with all I've had going on, I forgot I posted this! lol

We ended up going to the Mexican food place just down from Del Frisco's right across from Tesla at Legacy west Meseras (sp) very good food, little skimpy on the salsa and chips and the black beans were good but it was more of a sample size IMO. The beef enchiladas with queso were probably the best enchiladas I have ever eaten. Was a nice lunch.

Mesero is good. You didn’t miss anything by skipping Del’s

Only 1 experience at Del Frisco's, the Double Eagle Steakhouse version. Wife's bday so we walked in, sat at the bar, ate two dozen oysters (raw), which were amazing. Since it was her birthday she splurged and drank a couple of martinis and 30 minutes later I was carrying her across the street to our hotel room (which I think was the Hilton). Good times! And I agree, I don't order steak at restaurants unless they are known for being amazing, like Cheeve's Brothers in Temple.

Mission accomplished. And, you didn’t even have to buy dinner. My man…..
