Sweetie Pies Ribeyes Decatur

Anyone ever been? It seems to be hit or miss for me. Their sides are great...they are owned by the same group that runs Babe's chicken house. Their yeast rolls are also spot on. They have a chicken fried ribeye that you would think ought to be dynamite....but it lacks flavor, is too small, and they do not trim the meat enough. One bite of gristle can ruin a CFS. They have a decent 16oz ribeye off the grill.
I was curious about other's opinions.

Have friends from Jacksboro that go there periodically and like it, sent my neighbors over there once and they did not?

I take customers in there once a month. I’ve never had a bad meal there. Great place.

I liked Babe's better, but Sweetie Pies is fine with me.

The chicken fried ribeyes are made with ends and pieces, a by product when rib eye steaks are cut, never trimmed, the breading hides it. you found it.

Sounds about right. Such a shame.

They used to have a GREAT burger there, but it has been several years since I have been there.

Also, try the pecan pie. You can thank me later.

Its alright I guess, I call it a good "lunch" place. There are way better places to eat steak.

I have dined there a few times on my way from DFW to Lubbock. The steaks aren't the best, but they are a decent value compared to most other steak places. That being said, the sides and the rolls are the main draw for me.

You are right about the chicken fried ribeye, you would expect it to be amazing but it is just bland. Go with the regular CFS next time, it is pretty good.

Been through there a bunch, deliver trailers on occasion. I have also seen sign but never saw it. I have caught myself looking for it.

You gotta get off the highway and go downtown.

Overrated

only had there grilled chicken salad,sweet tea, good lunch.
