Castell Store

Talk about a good place to eat on weekends - this place is good. Big Victor can cook some awesome brisket. The best part is all the tales that folks tell while they eat. Come opening weekend of deer season this place will be packed. Randy is a gracious host.

We'll be close by there next week. Is it open on weekdays?

Been hunting the Castell area for over 7 years now. Many stories I could tell about that place. Definitely some characters there.

BBQ is solid, as are the Burgers. I hear the Sunday ribeyes are pretty great as well, though I've haven't yet had a chance to try one myself.

Buzz...Look at page 15 in the recently mailed September issue of Texas Hiways for a great writeup and pictorial on Castell...

Wish we'd known it was there couple years ago when we were looking for a house down there around Buchannan, and had the absolutely worst lunch at a place in LLano. BH got the green apple quick turkey trots, and even my cast iron gut complained all nite.

Been hanging out there for many years. It's a good time. It's gonna get too popular and become citified I'm afraid.
