Baby Back Shak

Baby Back Shak - 06/26/15 05:07 PM

I don't do a lot of research before I eat a new restaurant because I like to form my own opinion. Today I stopped by Baby Back Shak located on Akard St in Dallas. Ordered the sliced brisket, ribs, butter corn, and shak beans. Food looked great and the joint smelled like any good old BBQ joint should. 2 meats 2 sides and a drink for $13.88.

Brisket was poor in texture and flavor, a little over cooked for my liking. The ribs were cooked individually and therefore tough with little meat, but decent flavor. The corn was corn, nothing special. The beans were great, loaded with meat and a sweet & spicy flavor. Definitely won't be stopping there again, and for having to wait in a 20 person line at 11:30am I was expecting much much better food.

Yup. Every Yankee thinks he can BBQ as good as a Texan.

I'm coming to Casa de Cast for my next review. That brisket you cooked yesterday looked great!

That's a shame, it looked pretty good. I'll stick with Railhead in Ft. Worth.
