Awesome MEXICAN, plano

Awesome MEXICAN, plano - 04/02/15 02:09 PM

El Tacontento Taqueria,

I have eaten there 3 times this week. Good, cheap, authentic mexican food. BYOB too which is a good thing in my opinion. The tripas street tacos are my new favorite and the cantalope water is pretty good, especially with a little tequila added (b.y.o.t.)

If you like great mecxican food give this little hole in the wall a try. 2cents

Not sure that I'd be willing to try the tripas, but I'll have to give this place a try. It sounds great.

Had 2 beef & 2 chicken enchiladas with Green sauce there yesterday, it was very good up
This is authentic type Mexican food, real beef (a little dry) not hamburger meat.

Will try the breakfast next time.

I went to this place today with high hopes but I left disappointed.
I had the cheese enchilada plate with red sauce and 3 fajita tacos, corn and flour. The enchiladas and sauce were cold and they used feta cheese or something weird for the internal cheese. Both interior and exterior were not hot. Im not positive but the red sauce was nothing special with poor flavor and seemed like cheap canned variety. They had good rice and average refrieds

Beef fajita street tacos. IMO these were also average and didn't really have anything special going for them. They were good but how ever they do there fajita meat it was reddish colored and not brown. Onions were not grilled all the way. Of the taquerias and places ive had similar they were just average.

The outside of the place was typical but the inside was new remodeled and clean.

Not to rain on the parade but I would give it 4-5 of 10 overall and unless I lived close I wouldn't go back.

If a person thinks this place is good please go try Cookies in Downtown old McKinney. The food is WAY better like night and day.

I have to agree. I live about 3 minutes away and while I have been a couple of times, I just think it's ok. I prefer "Burrito Grande" at the corner of hwy 5 and Bethany in Allen. It's well worth the extra 5 minute drive.
