Thanks for the training and the hospitality Wayne and Gary! We had a great session, not only w/avoidance but also snake alerting! Lil Red (Jack) definitely remembered and was pretty vocal when he saw or smelled them. Wayne sorry about almost getting your backside bit, he's not a timid dog and he knew who pissed him off! Good laugh afterwards. Good times and I feel REAL good that he's got a clue.
Looking forward to the Jan. extravaganza at the coast! Thanks again both of ya.

Yes, thanks for the hospitality. I was really impressed how Wayne handled each dog a little different according to what they needed and how they reacted. It impressed me you took extra time to work with the older dogs than you did the pups. Rosie and I will be back next year for a re-fresher course for sure.

Thanks

It was a great turn out and a lot of fun. I took a few pictures of dancing dogs. I will have to upload them soon.

Ol_Yeller, your dog got mad at the snakes.

Ol_Yeller and HornSlayer thank you very much. I like compliments, without them I probably would not be in business. I never get tired of compliments, they keeps me grounded and on track.

What I noticed about Ol Yeller's dog is he alerted near immediately to the snake, looked at it and got vocal. He was already angry at it. That tells me he is completely convinced that snake is bad news. I am no stranger to a dog flying through the air snapping, snarling and growling but the pucker factor cannot be controlled roflmao I have had them jump completely over my shoulder crapping as they flew by, some days are diamonds and some days are stones clap

This weekend was a great start to the training season.

I will chime in as well. I took Ruby, my lab, last year when she was under 6 months old with no prior E-collar experience. I admit I was nervous about that being her initial experience but there were no ill affects and Ruby learned some extremely valuable lessons. This year at her re-fresher to was no mistaking Ruby had a healthy fear of snakes that carried over. Wayne also went explained some differences to us and built on last year's session.

I don't know which was faster, the dog or me. He came by me at about 3 foot off the ground. He was exiting the theater, When I heard the guttural growl and looked, it was as if the dog was flying as he came by me. My first thought was "Well it happens every year, this year it is going to happen the first day". I thought I was in for a mauling, but as it turns out he was just getting out.
