THF group for axis does

So we have the audad hunt next month. Mike has put together a smash of a deal on some excellent table fare for axis does.

We need 8 paid hunters, no more and no less. Here are the tidbits

1.450 per hunter for one axis doe, lodging and meals.

2. 4,000 acres near Sonora TX. cold storage on site ect. 3,200 acres LF, 800 acres HF

3.The cool thing? Bow or rifle folks.

4.When? Summer time, tba, June or July.

Some of you know axis does are thru the roof on pricing as most places are 350-400 just for a doe, no lodging etc.

We will set the dates for this hunt within the next couple of days. Mike is out hunting so we will get some dates out and see who is still in or who we need to bring in to make it happen. Thanks for the interest.

Here are some date options for everyone.
Hunt will be Friday afternoon through about noon on Sunday.

$450 per hunter flat fee. $200 deposit to hold each spot and balance in cash on arrival.

If you plan to archery hunt I need to know ahead of time. We are set up for archery in a handful of
locations. This will be a hunt over water and or feed with some safari style (with guide) for rifle hunters.
Primarily for this hunt hunters will be dropped off and picked up from stand for a morning hunt and evening hunt.

Can also possibly do June 9thPm through 11th if needed I can move some things around.

OK here is the important part. Sealing the deal. Mike has requested a check/MO etc made to him for $150.00. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE NOTE. The 150 is NON-REFUNABLE. If you can NOT make the hunt and don't want to lose your deposit it is up to YOU to find a replacement, not Mike, not me or anyone else.

How you arrange with another THFer or anyone for that matter is up to you. The remaining 300 is due in CASH at the time of the hunt.

Rifle hunters yes will primarily be hunting box blinds and we will also set you up
over water sources if necessary. Not all water sources have blinds so we can make a brush
blind so bring a neutral colored fold out chair or a pad to sit on the ground (if needed this will be plan b).

**We will also do some safari style hunting depending on how many bow and rifle hunters in camp**

Bring your sleeping bag or blanket and pillow along with shower toiletries and ice for your drinks.

There are no hogs here (thankfully). Any predators (coyote, bobcat, fox, skunks, raccoons are all free).
**There are some Fallow and Aoudad in the high fence portion of the ranch THEY ARE OFF LIMITS**
Depending on my bookings I may have an Axis buck or two available- will have to check on this closer to hunt.
Nearby and on bordering properties I do have black buck, oryx, rams, and a few others.

4. Fishing Available??
No not at this time.

How does a meeting time of 1Pm work for everyone on the 9th/Friday?
We can meet in Sonora Texas at out local taxidermist shop (Rough Creek Taxidermy)
which is next to the Red Barn liquor store on side and Sonic on the other.

It is 15 minutes to the ranch from this location.

IS anyone archery hunting? Is anyone bringing some long range rifles/capable of shooting longer ranges?
This will affect on how I plan to set everyone up.

Both me and Homerunslayer will be bringing rifles (7x57 for me and unsure on him maybe 257 WM) not really looking to make any super long shots. 1 pm is perfect for us. Looking forward to it!

How far is "longer range"?????

I have some locations a guy could shoot 500 to 800 yards if they wanted to.
I can set everyone up though for 100 to 200 yard shots also.

I am not near consistent enough for 500+. I will make sure it is good for 300 yards and in though. 1pm sounds great to us Mike.

I got 4 touching at 100 so she is set on kill and ready to roll.

It was a long weekend but a fun one thanks guys for coming out. It was great meeting you all. I hope to see you all again in the future.

This was an overall outstanding hunt. Mike and Tyler worked very hard in the field and in the kitchen to make sure we all really enjoyed the experience at Los Cueros. I cannot wait for my next hunt down there later this year. My deer was processed before it was time for me to leave this morning to head home. Mike and WTHO made it happen

These peppers where on point. I did not get a pic of Friday nights meal but o my goodness was it good. The whitetail burgers got ate up quick as hell at lunch on saturday so no pics either.
