Ram Hunt Recommebdations - 01/10/17 06:14 PM

Hello, I'm new to the forum and Texas hunting in general. I was a lifelong hunter in my home states of Washington and Idaho but since I moved here three years ago for colleg I haven't had the opportunity to hunt Texas. Right now I'm planning a graduation gift hunt for myself and my younger brother and have received tons of recommendations from a Texas Exotics group on FB. I believe I've narrowed it down to Thompson Temple or trey Kuenstler. I just wanted to ask this forum what their opinions were regarding these two men. To give context, I'm looking for an affordable ($300-500 per person) ran hunt, nothing fancy, that's within 4 hours of Austin. I'd prefer spot-and-stalk method, and am interested in full curl or larger Whites, Blacks, Corsicans, or Mouflons. I've already heard that Temple has subpar accommodations (I don't really care too much about that) and that but Kuenstler, I can't find too much info on. Thank you for the add and hope to hear from ya!

There's a Thompson temple "review" a little ways down this page. Follow trey on Facebook and contact and if the reviews to see about the situation. I'm trying to schedule something with him but my "budget" I don't think warrants much of his time

Go look in the Exotis Forum. You can find free range Mouflon hunts (Mulie Mike) and a bunch of outfitters that have high fence.

have known Trey for about 2 years now...my brother and i have been working on our sheep slams and other animal types (as time permits) with Trey and each time he has gone out of his way to ensure quality animals at affordable prices with multiple methods of hunts depending on your weapon of choice and hunt style preference...he has included lodging and meals on occasion as well (and he is not too shabby of a cook)...for my money/time he is the first guy i call when interested in a particular animal to hunt...

I also recommend Trey. I have done several hog hunts with him and a few exotic hunts. great guy to deal with.

As an outfitter I also have ram hunts just not in the price range. If I was going to pick I between the 2 I would go with Trey

If you want a pure European Mouflon you won't find them for that price! Here is an excellent spot and stalk pure European Mouflon ram hunt at an excellent price. The ram fits the definition off his breed. Hilonsome is very reputable outfit. Ask around and you'll see what I'm saying ........

I understand that pure mouflons are a much more expensive hunt. I should have specified I'm looking more for "mouflon type", such as hybrids.

ive been to Thompsons, 3 times. I have never had an issue and saw plenty of good animals and have a mouflon, Corsican, and black Hawaiian to show for it..
