Port O'Connor waterfowl guide review

Port O'Connor waterfowl guide review - 11/28/16 02:34 AM

I set up a goose and duck hunt with a guy named Brandon Kendrick in POC. I was thoroughly displeased. The first hunt was for geese. He said another guide buddy would have to take us out because he didn't have a place. So the goose guy was terrible. Almost all the shots they called were skyblast shots, they shot most of the birds that were low enough because they came to the first as we weren't playing the wind right. I didn't get to kill a single bird. One of them killed more than their limit and there were two geese that went down farther out in the field that they didn't try to recover at all. The goose guys were Will and John in Edna. That evening Brandon was supposed to take us on the bay. His boat was full so he made go with another guide. Luckily the guides he pawned us off on were real good. We had a great time with these other guys. Brandon was supposed to take us out again the next morning. He was going to send us with Will again to hunt ducks on the prairies. I said no. I wanted to hunt the bay. So I cancelled with him and got on a boat with the real guides. Glad I did too because we had another great hunt. I will be going to POC again but not with Brandon. If anyone is thinking about going with him, I would say flush your money down the toilet. You'll get the same outcome.

So let's put all the facts out there please as I kept all of our texts.

Our initial agreement was a morning goose hunt followed by a pm duck hunt on the bay followed by a prairie duck hunt the next morning. Other guides and myself like Keith Hudson all work together as friends. I never pawned you off on another guide as it was already pre arranged when you booked the trip. Just like any other HUNTING TRIP we can't control the birds espicially geese. It seems like the others shot well at the geese and killed some. And I was NOT suppose to take you guys out Sunday as our arrangement was for a prairie hunt and yes Will runs the hunts for us on the prairie. And just speaking for us " Guides" you changing what you wanted to do the day before is a nightmare for us. And it's really sickening the customers like yourself does so. Everyone puts a lot of hard work in , time and money to make sure you have a good time. For you to change your mind the night before was a nightmare and to get Keith to take y'all was definetly a problem as he already had one group. Now I apologized and did what we could to ensure you had a great trip and we got put in a ridiculous situation and got put out a lot of money due to a change of plans at the last minute. Very sorry that your expectations were not met.

I'll post pictures of our text message soon to show everyone our previous agreement so that all the facts our out into the open

Panda,

Sounds like a trip to the ole sporting clays range may serve you well.. Others in the group shot geese but you didnt? I call that getting out "Whataburgered", others call it getting "outshot". Better luck next time

I was trying to get the mods to allow me to edit but have not seen my edit button come back up so I will modify my comments through this post. After speaking with Brandon I would like to remove my comments directed at him as he was not present on the goose hunt. Furthermore he was willing to make up the trip which I respect. However Will and John deserve what I said and more.

Black mag, anytime you would like to test my ability on the trap or skeet field I'm ready. As long as it works for my schedule and I don't have to get a room due to the distance, you name time and place. I'm also game for a friendly wager as well.

In reference to the goose hunt How many times did you shoot(as in # of shells)? How many geese were taken total? How many people were on the hunt?
