2016 elk

My friend and I are looking for a 2016 rifle elk hunt.
Preferably private land hunt in New Mexico.
budget up to $7K or so.

any personal experiences and/or suggestions?

These guys have access to some great land and take big bulls every year. I have not hunting with them personally but know one of the guides.

Gila and Apache outfitters, they hunt mostly public land in the Gila, if your lucky enough to draw its better than 90% of private land hunts in the rest on NM.

I think you are correct. But IF Joe says he can put you on elk. I'd take him up on it! Also he knows everybody in NM. He would make a great resource too find a good hunt. You also might want to PM Sitkahunter on here. He runs a great operation.

Private land 100% opportunity. Elk, antelope and deer. Start in August, velvet racks and end in January.

Lobo Outfitters. They are located in Pagosa Springs, CO but they have 20,000 acres of private land in northern NM. Hunted their twice and going back this next season.

Don't be fooled by their website, almost 100% of their business is repeat business so they don't do a lot of marketing.

This may not be the place, but if you hunt out of Pagoasa Springs, I rent my cabin out to hunters there every year.

There is a great one in Ogden Utah, "White" something. I was going to book a hunt with them but never did. Great guys to deal with. $7,000 will get you a 350+!!
