East Texas Red Hind, Cull Stag, Whitetail and Axis doe meat hunts

My 401 acre heavily timbered HF family hunting ranch is located 22 miles NW of Nacogdoches, 19 miles south of Henderson in Rusk county.

I am the owner and will be the guide on all hunts, there are no guide or hunt fees. All animals are guides choice. The ranch is MLD, so the Whitetails are on the ranch MLD tags, not yours.

Hunt pricing : Cull Stags (very little antler) with large bodies - $800
Red Hinds - $500
Whitetail and Axis does - $300

All payments are cash only, $300 non-refundable deposit required to hold your dates, deposit applied to any animal taken.

There is no lodging on the ranch but is available in both cities mentioned above. There are walk in cooler and cleaning facilities available for your use.

What's the approximate live-weight of a red hind doe (or is it cow)?

Edit: I've been looking at Wikipedia. So "hind" = doe and "hart or stag" = male? Females weigh 260-370 pounds. Does that sound about right?

Depending on the age of the hind (doe), their weights here on my ranch run from 80-100#s for a yearling to 270-308# for 3 to 4 year olds. The 308# is the largest we have taken here. All of these weights are live weight.

No, I did not save any of them from the game cameras. The Stag has very little antler, in the 6" range, meat animal only.

Great hunt with Rick today. My son had a great experience getting his first axis and Rick was a great guy to hunt with. We had a lot of fun and hopefully get to do it again.

Great hunt today with Rick! Went out and took a Red Hind and Axis. Red Hind 255lbs and Axis was great size too. Rick did an amazing job guiding and made us feel very much so at home. This will be a new tradition for us from here on out. Great job Rick, and thanks for everything! [img][/img]

How long will you be running these hunts?

The hunts will be available until I have removed the number of animals for my management plan. I have hunts booked into early March, as of now. Currently, still have good numbers of WT doe, Axis doe, Red hinds and a couple of cull Stags to take. All of the WT does will have to be taken by the end of Feb. which is the end of the MLD season.

Are the hinds mature?

I have some 2 year olds left, weigh around 200#+

Are you running any deals this year on axis does or whitetail does?

I'm curios too. My wife shot a few axis does last year when I hunted sika deer in Sonora TX and now she wants to put axis meat in the freezer again!!!
