Please PM me if you are interested in hunting this 18 point hill country buck. I believe he will score near 180. Drop has split. I hope to get some better pics this week and will post them. I have accommodations and will throw in 2 does or axis does. Price: $9500

So when you say "native" does that mean its a low fence hunt?

Re: NATIVE KERR COUNTY DROP TINE BUCK - 08/20/14 12:32 AM

no. High Fence. No introduced genetics. I just let the native deer live and grow to see what would happen.

Interesting. If he's truly ~ 180.

I just don't see it though if he's on a true hill country body. Typically the body of a hill country buck doesn't get over 150-160#.

Hope you get him shot so we don't have to guess.

Great deer regardless! up

Yeah I really don't see him being in the 180s, but he is one fine specimen. Hopefully someone gets him and maybe proves us wrong.

Re: NATIVE KERR COUNTY DROP TINE BUCK - 09/03/14 02:23 AM

You may be right....but it helps that I have his last years sheds. He scored 160+ with no kickers or drops. If he has the same rack as last year but with the extra points, he would be at least 175. With all the rain we have had, i think he will go 180.

Re: NATIVE KERR COUNTY DROP TINE BUCK - 09/03/14 02:56 AM

Thanks. I have never sold any hunts on my property. I have given some hunts away to different charity functions but mostly just family hunt. If the deer show any potential at all, we don't shoot them. I was really surprised to see a buck of this caliber on my place. Growing up, we never let the bucks get more than 8 points... It's really amazing what potential the deer have especially if you let them get old and have a wet year.

I am faced with the same dilemma that a lot of land owners have....try to make money on the land or sell it. It can be a money pit.

Looks like he will have 17 or 18 scorable points. Don't have any hard horn pics yet.

If it's just family why not let em breed another year or two. That deer doesn't look to be over 5.

He is trying to get some funds for the ranch to offset expenses.

Re: NATIVE KERR COUNTY DROP TINE BUCK - 09/24/14 11:27 PM

He is at least 8. I have sheds and pictures going back to 2008 when he was a 12 point and scored 155. And, I doubt he would be that big at age 2. He is probably 9 or 10.

Hoping he gets it shot for 9500 bucks and stating "Great deer regardless" is talking down?

Booner you really should have paid more attention in class.

I can't believe someone hasn't bought this deer yet. A drop time of that caliber used to bring a lot more than he's asking.

Keep plugging kch. Get him shot before the rut.

There is no doubt in my mind about the age of this deer. I have been watching him since 2008. He has a tremendous drop. However, he probably doesn't make 180. If anyone wants to make me an offer, please contact me.

I finally got some better pictures of the buck. The buck will probably score in the 170s. I will base the price on the gross score. $5000 plus $100 per inch over 150. If the buck scores 170, it would be $$7000 ($5000 plus $2000). Please let me know if anyone is interested. The rut will start soon and the drop is sure to get broken off.

That is an awesome deer with a very unique headgear. Outstanding deal too! I'm also not sure the deer won't make 180. Regardless, you just don't find SPLIT drops often. That alone should add tons of value.

I'll be in Comfort this weekend for 5 days hunting, I will ask around if anyone has taken this deer. We usually make it to some of the processors in the area, Ingram, Kerrville, etc. checking for big bucks taken...

Good luck with your sale, I'll stay tuned...
