"Treehouse" blind build suggestions? - 11/09/17 09:34 PM
I'm thinking about building an old-fashioned "treehouse" kind of blind in my woods near a dedicated hog feeder. Wanting it to be a platform with low walls that you can sit on a standard-height chair and be concealed from below, and with no roof or windows. I'm wondering what options I have for attaching the platform base supports to the trees without nailing or screwing bolts into them. I've seen it done long ago using wire tightly wrapped around the tree, but I don't have a lot of confidence in the weight-supporting capabilities of that. Plus, over time the wire gets grown into the trees.
So should I just go ahead and nail/bolt the supports into the trees and hope that the trees aren't damaged?
Or give up the idea and just build a platform on top of 16' 4x6s?
