Stand and fill type feeder problems

Stand and fill type feeder problems - 11/01/17 07:03 PM

My feeders are a different make from Stand and Fill, but they are similar. The feeder throw mechanism is supposed to be critter proof and seal off after the spinner does it’s job. Well, one seals off if I keep it lubed, but the other one won’t. Dang squirrels can spin me into the poor house on the non-sealing feeder. I wrapped them both in chicken wire today, and it’ll take about the strongest squirrel that ever lived to get in there now. I think I ‘won’, but i’m bleeding from a thousand small cuts.

I saw a lease member's spintech feeder that was the exact same way, I figured maybe the spring was wore out or malfunctioning? It wouldn't even close all the way
