"GET AWAY"® Squirrel & Raccoon Repellent

• Repels squirrels from bird feeders.
• Repels raccoons from garbage, gardens, and lawns.
• Repels by odor and taste.

APPLICATION DIRECTIONS:
For outdoor use only. Will stain fabric. Do not use where vegetable oil would be undesirable, such as car finishes, home sidings or screens. May stain concrete. Spray inconspicuous area to test. Animals will be repelled at the point of contact. It is important to cover entire area to be protected in each application.

Bird Feeders: To discourage the raiding of bird feeders by squirrels, wet area around bird feeder, including pole, tree limbs, trunk and leaves. Use spray setting for feeder and stream setting for all other areas. Apply 0.10 oz. (approximately 3 full trigger sprays) per square foot. Reapply every 7 to 10 days.

Landscape Areas: To discourage digging by squirrels in landscaped areas, best results are achieved when product is applied to existing bark mulch. Wet entire area to be protected, especially outer perimeter. Use stream setting. Apply 0.20 oz (approximately 5 full trigger sprays) per square foot. Reapply 7 to 10 days.

Garbage Bags: To reduce frequent tearing of garbage bags by raccoons, spray entire bag thoroughly, including the bottom. Use spray setting. You may put trash out up to 36 hours before pickup.

Lawns and Gardens: To discourage unwanted raccoons from entering a lawn and garden, spray in a five foot wide perimeter for border protection. Use spray setting. Apply 0.10 oz. (approximately 3 full trigger sprays) per square foot. Reapply every 7 to 10 days.

try wheel bearing grease too. 'Coons are notoriously "clean" animals and once they get that stuff all over their fur they'll be too d@mn mad to try it again. If you think I'm crazy try shampooing your hair with the stuff then going to work...

Something that my uncle tried at his place is he ducktaped carpet tackstrip to the legs...we came back and there was blood all over the legs from the coons cutting up their feet. Seems to be working pretty good. We also just shoot the hell out of them when we see them.

I made the PVC for the legs and put it out. Haven't been back yet. Should be out there weekend after Easter. We'll see what happened. I like the tack strip idea also.

Keep ideas coming!

We have the same protein feeder. Can the coons jump up high enough on the funnel to pull themselves up? How high off the ground do you keep it. Also, do you jus wire up the PVC? Never tried that before. Are you happy with it?

Find yourself a trapper. OR, you can trap them yourself. Coon are easy to trap and you could make a little bit of money too. Not tons, but a little. As for the guy who suggested using the fly bait, this will work, but you could end up in big trouble if someone squeals on you as it is a federal violation and the Fed COs love to nail people. If they get a call, they WILL check it out.

Doing this is highly illegal and you are promoting an illegal act. Not only will it kill raccoons but all other species that eat it! Golden Maldrin is not a pesticide labeled for raccoons or any other species other than flies!

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a
manner inconsistent with its labeling.

GOLDEN MALRIN‚ Fly Bait is a fly bait formula
containing Muscamone®‚ Fly Attractant which
encourages both male and female flies to remain in
the treated area, thus feeding on the bait.

GOLDEN MALRIN FLY BAIT IS NOT TO BE USED INSIDE
OR AROUND HOMES, OR ANY OTHER PLACE WHERE
CHILDREN OR PETS ARE LIKELY TO BE PRESENT.

Do not apply this product in a way that will contact
workers or other persons. Only protected handlers
may be in the areas during application. Do not
contaminate feed and foodstuffs. Do not use the can
opener used to open this product on food containers.
Use a separate can opener. Do not apply where
poultry or other animals, especially dogs and young
calves, can pick it up or lick it. Do not use in homes
or where milk is processed or stored. Do not feed
treated garbage. Use only in areas inaccessible to
food producing animals, children, and pets.
Do not use in edible product areas of food processing
plants, restaurants, or other areas where food is
commercially prepared or processed. Do not use in
serving areas while food is present.

•WITH MUSCAMONE® FLY ATTRACTANT
•AMERICA’S #1 SELLING FLY BAIT
•ATTRACTS AND KILLS FLIES
•STANDARD PARTICLE SIZE TO REDUCE DUST
SCATTERBAITS

Use GOLDEN MALRIN Fly Bait as a scatterbait only
around the outside of certain commercial agricultural
production facilities where children or pets will not be
present, specifically feedlots, broiler houses, and
livestock barns. Bait may be used on walkways in
caged layer houses.

GOLDEN MALRIN Fly Bait may also be used as a
scatterbait around the outside of the following
commercial facilities: canneries, beverage plants,
meat and poultry processing plants, food processing
plants, and commercial refuse dumpsters which are
fenced or otherwise enclosed. Do not use around
commercial dumpsters which are not enclosed. Do not
use around dumpsters in residential settings.
To avoid contact, distribute bait directly from container
or other device at the rate of approximately 1/4 lb (4
oz) per 500 sq ft of fly feeding area. Reapply on a
daily basis to maintain control, when the fly
population is large enough to consume 4 oz of
GOLDEN MALRIN Fly Bait within a 500 square feet
area in 1 day. However, when fly populations
decrease, consumption of the bait also decreases, so
reapply every 2-3 days to maintain adequate fly
control. DO NOT PUT IN PILES. Keep 1 to 2 inch
intervals between particles. DO NOT ALLOW FOOD
PRODUCING ANIMALS OR PETS TO HAVE ACCESS TO
TREATED AREAS.

BAIT STATIONS
Use GOLDEN MALRIN Fly Bait in any commercial bait
station secured at least 4 feet above the ground and
inaccessible to food-producing animals, pets, and
children in the following areas: stables, outside of
milking parlors, kennels, fast food establishments,
restaurants, commissaries, bakeries, supermarkets,
refuse dumpsters, and warehouses. Do not use in
edible product areas of food processing plants,
restaurants, or other areas where food is commercially
prepared or processed. Do not use in serving areas
while food is present.

3 or 4 inch white PVC pipe on each leg about 5 feet long will work for the straight legs, the ladder presents more of an issue.

The ladder try more tack strips and perhaps a varmit shocker would help

Re: Best way to keep raccoons off feeder??? - 01/17/11 01:58 AM

i have said it before and will say it again. as a hunter and as a man i have never believed in poisoning a creature. i would rather shoot one the have them suffer. anyone doing so should get the biggest fine the law allows plus loose their rights to own a hunting license and get some jail time to go along with it. to me anyone that poisons animals or even suggest doing so is not a hunter. i hope you know if you are doing such a thing your poisoning alot of wildlife more then just coons. i would hope the game warden of Bexar county would follow up and check on some that even suggest such a thing.

I agree with JRod......Spintech spinners work. No need for varmit cage or anything. Check em out online and they have video showing how they work. And since i've switched, everytime all the guys on the lease fill feeders mine usually still has 1/3 left.

I've done the monkey food thing and it seemed to be an expensive way to piss them off. I think that was an appetizer for them before they ransacked my corn feeders. Shortly after putting that stuff out, they literally destroyed two of my boxed timers. I think it might also act as a fertility treatment as well, because those suckers started having babies out the wazoo...

Weird rubbing vasaline on a feeder. My friends laughed at me but it worked. No more coons on the feeder. Just on the ground eating. Will stick to that until deer get use to our new protein feeders...then will switch to axel grease.

I have varmit zappers on my feeders.. I use American hunter feeders. So the little bandits get a jolt everytime they try to get the corn. I might have to try the grease trick also! lol

Was just on Bass Pro's website and found this..
Boss Buck Shark Teeth™ Deterrent Strips.
Deters hogs, livestock, raccoons and large birds from assaulting your feeder
36'' L x 1-1/2'' W steel strips
Self-tapping screws
Pre-punched holes
Replaces varmint guards, traps, PVC pipes and cages. Apply steel Shark Teeth to feeder legs to create a barrier that repels just about anything. Line the inside of feeder legs to keep pigs from rubbing or bumping them. Line the outside of the legs to prevent raccoons and squirrels from climbing and pigs and livestock from pushing and bumping your feeder.
