Any tricks to restore a 12v feeder battery that won't hold a charge? Only gets up to 10V after a long trickle charge then dies off to 8 after a few hrs. Not a huge deal, just don't want to spend $20 if I don't have to.

Sounds like the battery is spent. I think your only solution is $20.

a 12v battery that shows <12v on the meter is spent. A fully charged 12v will show around 12.6v, and a weak battery will show 12. Once it's gone, it's gone.

20 is about right for a 12V battery. I buy mine in Rocksprings at Lowes for 14.99. Best deal Ive found.
