What to expect from "The Timer" and the Eliminator plate

I just switched out my feeders to both of the above products, and have had no prior experience with either of the brands.
Wanting to know what I can expect as far as future problems might be, longevity, etc..
They're all on 12 volt solar panel systems with the large motor, and fully enclosed by galvanized cages.

Been using "The Timer" for the past 15 years without a single complaint. No experience with that style plate though.

Had an Eliminator Plate on an All Seasons feeder for about a year. Never had a cage and the Bandits couldn't figure it out. After about a year it wouldn't reset to the closed position and thus would dump corn on the ground. I lubed it with silicon spray and was better a for a while. Ended up putting a regular plate with varmit cage on it. Swithed over to all The Timer timers 2 years ago from Remington/Wildgame timers. Havent had an issue since.

My thoughts on the plate were to spray the links and shaft with silicone spray whenever I service the feeders, and that's good to hear about the Timer.
My main concern on the Timer is the fuse. Tried to find some just to have as back-ups and can't.
Had to special order them through Grainger.

I still have a few of The Timers (they have smaller buttons than the new ones) that all work just like the day I bought them, probably 10+ years ago. They are easy to understand and fast to change time on.
Interesting to hear of Eliminator Plate issues.

have both no real complaints. only issue I have with the plate was getting the right distance from the funnel(I left a little gap, wind blows and I loose some feed).

Never used either but YOU WILL NOT GO WRONG WITH THE TIMER. I use HCR's units but they are basically the same and very dependable. The digital wildgame/remington/everlast///// work for some but II don't care for them.

Both good...the eliminator plate saves corn, I spray lubricant on mine about every 6 weeks. On mine I have the spinner plate too close to the bottom of barrel and thus not much corn is thrown unless I crank up to 5-6 seconds.

I was of the opinion that on the spinner plate, it's supposed to seal off the funnel completely. At least that's what I've done.
I've got it spinning for 5 seconds, then it shuts and seals off all corn.
No wind, bird, squirrel or raccoon loss to the corn. It's been working great.

Yes sir that is correct, on mine it is mounted too high on the motor shaft. I cannot bring it lower due to screw holding the motor...1/4" too high. I think if the eliminator was mounted lower it would thro more corn.
