GoLight story... - 01/11/17 08:41 PM

This does not seem to happen very much anymore so I thought I would tell the room about it.

I recently purchased a remote control spot light made by GoLight off the internet. I found a good deal on a web sight I had never heard of and purchased the light.
When the light came in it was broken out of the box. The retail price on this thing is around $600 so I was not to happy about it. I contacted the seller and began the long road of trying to return the busted light. Before I knew the light was broken I had already emailed GoLight to ask about what mounting shoe I needed for it. Once I realized the light was broken I let Jason at GoLight know that I had an issue with the light and needed to do a return through the seller before I would be ordering any accessory's. Jason then volunteered to do the return through GoLight and after telling him my application he suggested a better light for what I was doing that was slightly more money. Long story short, I sent GoLight my broken light and was sent back a light that better fit my needs and all the accessory's we had spoke about free of charge and in about 2 weeks! The lights have a full warranty but the way the issue was taken care of was top notch.

I don't think I have ever had a customer service experience like this before. I have not had a chance to really use the light but so far GoLight has really impressed me and I would highly recommend them.

I had great luck with their customer service talking me through converting a 24V to 12V. Good folks to do business with. I gave one to a buddy and have one sitting on a shelf for myself. Sooner or later I'll figure out how I want to mount and use them.

I have had great success with their lights and especially their customer service.

Which this post reminds me I need to contact them about my last light that fell off my truck. Still works but doesn't rotate like it should.

Any unconventional mounting solution ideas would be appreciated. My buddy and I don't want to ride around with them mounted on the roofs of our cabs, and I'm looking for alternatives.

I just mounted mine in a mounting shoe that go light makes for a few models. The shoe is mounted to a bracket on my headache rack and I wired in a plug. Its really easy and you don't need any tools to remove or install the light. I will see if i can get some pics for you.

I've got a diamond plate tonneau cover on my truck and my buddy has a camper shell. Both of our GoLights are set up for the bolt on mounts. He may drill his camper shell and mount his, but I'm thinking I may have to fabricate a bracket to raise it up to roof level since I don't want to drill the cab's roof.

That's different than what I did for sure. I picked up this mounting bracket online and then bolted the shoe to it and minted the bracket to the headache rack. Sounds like you guys are going to have to do some fabricating.
