Starrett digital and don't look back.

I don't trust digital to hold zero, after seeing more than one lose zero. Judd said "I'm an old soul".

The Starrett digital holds zero fine.

Mitutoyo solar is what I have and I love them. JG was not a fan but I have no idea what he's talking about when he says it doesn't hold zero?

And I never have to mess with batteries. Now, for cheap the Pittsburgh brand from Harbor Freight is pretty good. It's consistent with my Mitutoyo.

Starrett is good as is Brown & Sharpe.

I too am looking at quality calipers and have read that a lot of the new Starretts are not what they once were, take that for what you paid for it. Seems the B&S and Mitutoyo are favored now.

Yours lost zero the day I used them.

Mine are Starrett EDP 64514. I got them from a friend. No telling how old they are. DO NOT drop you calipers on concrete, it is very bad for them.

You know the "hardware" I'm used to. You've seen my 240 pound anvil and collection of hammers.

I don’t trust digital. You can’t go wrong with Starrett or Mitutoyo dials. I’ve been carrying the same Mitutoyo dial calipers in my truck for 17 years. The case is busted but the calipers still work great. I like the mitutoyo OD Mics and the Starrett ID mics. Calipers, either will work. I think any dial caliper will work for you If it’s just sitting on a reloading bench and not being carried, as long as it returns to zero every time.

I refuse to Alexa or siri or whatever because I'm worried about who could listen is. No more digital. Haven't yall seen the documentary Futurama. Mom implanted chips in all electronics to take over the world in a robot revolt.
